EDGC attends Illumina Summit 2019

EONE-Diagnomics Genome Center attends ‘Consumer & Healthcare Genomics Summit 2019’ (hereinafter Illumina Summit 2019) held by Illumina in Bangkok, May 7-8.


In particular, Min-seob Lee, co-CEO of EDGC who was invited as a speaker at the Illumina Summit 2019, will present under the theme of ‘Actionable Reports from Screening Array - PGx, ACMG59 and Beyond’. This presentation is expected to be a good opportunity to introduce EDGC as a leading company that opened up the market for clinical and consumer genomics in Korea beyond the existing market.


The major announcements include ▲hereditary cancer prediction test ‘RISKCARE Focus’ ▲newborn genetic screening test ‘bebegene’ ▲pharmacogenomics service ▲clinical diagnosis service ‘ACMG59’ and Min-seob Lee plans to share unique technology, which he has practiced from the development of DNA App, that brings genetic information closer to daily life.


Min-seob Lee said, “I am very pleased to introduce EDGC’s latest genome analysis technology at the Illumina Summit 2019 hosted by Illumina which is the world’s largest genome analysis company. I hope that this summit will be a place of cooperation by sharing EDGC’s research achievements and success stories and by discussing industry’s future developments and roadmaps between global peer groups.”


Meanwhile, EDGC has been selected as the only Asian representative among the 12 participating organizations of Global Screening Array(GSA) led by Illumina and has been recognized for its global competitiveness. EDGC is currently providing consumer and healthcare genetic testing services to more than 15 countries and realizing K-Bio Genomic Silk Road.


Illumina, the world’s largest genome analysis company which was established in 1998 in San Diego, is focusing on improving technology of disease diagnosis as well as the development of instruments and reagents for large-scale analysis of genetic variants and functions.
